Taxa Genomics Biodiversity Grant
Taxa Genomics operates globally, delivering environmental DNA testing and species identification services to commercial clients across multiple sectors. We are headquartered on the Isle of Man, and the Biodiversity Grant is our way of putting those same professional-grade capabilities to work for the community on our doorstep.
The grant provides free eDNA and/or species identification testing – with no money changing hands – to Isle of Man projects that can demonstrate a meaningful contribution to Manx biodiversity. That might mean surveying a habitat, recording a species of conservation concern, supporting a citizen science programme, or advancing academic understanding of the Island’s wildlife. Each funded project also receives volunteer time from Taxa Genomics staff to support sampling, results interpretation, and guidance throughout the process.
Who can apply?
The grant is open to:
- Schools and educational institutions
- University students
- Registered charities
- Community groups
- Independent researchers
There is no requirement to have prior experience with eDNA or genomic methods, that’s what we’re here for.
What’s included?
Successful applicants receive eDNA and/or species identification testing with a value equivalent to between £1,000 and £5,000 depending on project scope, plus volunteer staff time for sampling support and results interpretation.
