Designed and validated to collect exceptional concentrations of eDNA from flowing freshwater, our 24hr passive sampler is the end of syringing water through filters for many freshwater conservationists! With a simple decontamination protocol and the ability to purchase more filters, the passive sampler is reusable. It takes two minutes to place it in the river, leave it for 24 hours, come back and retrieve the filter from the device. It’s the ultimate eDNA timesaver and we’re delighted to be able to offer this to our clients. So long as water is flowing rather than still then the passive sampler will collect eDNA. The sampler kit option comes with a passive sampler device, an eDNA capture filter and a peg to fix it to the river bed. Additional capture filters are available so you can re-use the device as many times as you need, safe in the knowledge that you’re reducing your use of single-use plastics.
