Contract type: 4 hours per day (10am-2pm), Monday to Friday, Permanent

Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Customer Services Administrator to join our small team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction within our veterinary genetics brand by managing email enquiries efficiently, fulfilling customer orders, and providing admin support to the Managing Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and organisational skills, who is looking for a school-hours role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support: Handle customer enquiries via email, providing prompt and accurate information. Answering general enquiries to the Taxa Genomics phone line.
  • Order Processing: Daily processing of customer orders and returns, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Specimen Reception: Efficient and smooth running of our specimen reception, including recieving postal samples each day, goods inward, and specimen reception stock management.
  • Administration: Maintain and update customer and patient records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the laboratory staff, to ensure seamless customer experiences. Escalating scientific customer queries to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve processes, marketing opportunities, new products, and to enhance customer satisfaction. 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Essential
    • 5 GCSEs at grades 9-5 (A*-C), including English, Science and Maths
    • Previous experience in customer service and administrative roles
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with our customers professionally
    • Strong organisational, problem solving and multitasking abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Good typing speed
    • The ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within a regulated environment
    • Isle of Man Worker status
  • Desirable
    • An A-Level or BTEC in a scientific subject
    • Experience with Shopify and Freshdesk
